This was comedic detective work at its finest. A romp of hilarity from start to finish. I honestly did not know what I was in for when I started reading, but it was soon apparent that the smile wasn’t leaving my face from the beginning paragraph to the last. From a lightning strike, to workplace theft, to bad food, to murder. Can this newby gumshoe (with just little help from a friend) solve his very first case? I can only imagine how much fun this author would be bellied up to a bar. Good story, likable characters, and a great laugh. Terrific read and I highly recommend it.Product details

I will start by saying that I am reviewing this book and trying to not give anything away. I enjoyed it from front to back. It has a lot of very funny moments and a really good plot! Mr. Boyce has character development down to a science. I could picture the characters vividly. I won't describe what I thought they looked like, I'll leave that up to you!
The back cover is a riot in itself!
I'm glad that I purchased the book and will read it again! I've also told others about it and look forward to the next installment!

The plot is interesting, the characters are beyond nuts, and the laughs are nearly continuous. Getting hit by lightning turned out to be a good thing, courtesy of his lawyer, I M Crook. His best friend is working construction and is a master at blending weed as well as theft. That's enough to get you started, but you really need to read the rest of the book!
I received a copy from NetGalley and this is my honest review. I am sad to say that I had to stop reading this book several times due to the need to catch my breath and giving my sides a rest from laughing so much! Truly a comedy/detective book like no other. If the first book is this funny, I can't wait to read the ones that follow. This new PI is certain to go places.
This is a great book. Light hearted, fun, easy to read. The author has a different way of writing which is entertaining. I was hooked from the very first page. While it didn’t make me laugh out loud (and I have never found a book that does), it did made me smile. The characters are realistic and the author manages to make the most simple of scenes amusing. Unfortunately it becomes a little too silly for me to give it 5 stars, but I am very glad I read it and I highly recommend it to others.
After reading The Butler Dd It I had to promise my husband I wouldn't read books by this author in bed any more. I couldn't stop laughing out loud and waking him and scaring the cat! Fun read. Talented writer.
If you want a ton of good laughs, this is the book for you. Boyce’s homeboy prose, witty dialogue, quirky characters, and silly circumstances had me in stitches. An easy read that you won’t want to put down.
Of course, he (or is it a she) did it? I mean....who else COULD it be? Actually, Mr. Boyce provides the reader with a whole gamut of characters who could have done it and leaves you guessing right until the very end! This is a fun, laugh-out-loud, read with a main character who reminded me of a cross between Inspector Jacques Clouseau (The Pink Panther series) and Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum.....with even a sidekick (Sonny in this case) included.
